Living from the truth…

October 22nd, 2011

Try to remember to come from the perspective of the truth when you are faced with a dilemma of some kind. Sometimes the issue is just your own mind feeding you information that is deceiving. I was having a conversation yesterday with a young women in just this sort of a dilemma. Unfortunately, she was living in that moment from the viewpoint of the deception or lie, instead of the truth. The lie was, “you have no power, no skills, can offer no assistance; you are of no value.” Sound familiar? You probably have your own set of negative, self-defeating statements that are from your own personal library. It is astounding that we have thousands of thoughts each day and most of us are completely unaware of how many of these random thoughts are not only self sabotaging but are instrumental in the creation of our lives. I know you are probably thinking, “I deserve a great job, relationship, life, prosperity. You consciously think that you are smart enough, good looking, competent. And that is probably true………you consciously think these great thoughts, maybe even repeat them to yourself daily. The problem is that the conscious thoughts are not running the show! No, it is the unconscious stuff that is driving your bus. The hidden beliefs and ideas that may or may not even be your beliefs but those that you were conditioned to believe, or that you have because of an interpretation that you made earlier in life based on something other than the truth of you.

So I am going to take a giant step forward and put myself right out there. Here is my truth and what I believe. I believe that we were created in the image and likeness of THAT which created us, whatever that vast, powerful Force is for each of us. There are many different beliefs, ideas, definitions for this Great Force, but whether you are coming from a scientific, spiritual or mystical perspective is not as important as how you allow this Source to effect you and your life.  I am a firm believer that there has to be something that is greater, wiser, more benevolent that is available to all of us simply because we exist.  Not only that, but we can use this loving Source to create the kind of life that is purposeful, fulfilling, and joyful.

So what IS the truth of who you are?  How do you go about exploring and revealing all the gifts, talents, and skill that you possess; then utilize this information to create your vision of a successful, content, meaningful life.  A few things that have worked for me?  I spend quiet, contemplative time every single morning.  I am fearless and unrelenting in looking at my own strengths, weaknesses; accepting what needs to be built upon and what needs to be changed within me.  I seek help from others.  This is important.  I have coaches, mentors, and friends who are intelligent, creative beings willing to share their wisdom with me, as well as listen to my thought and ideas.

What are you willing to do today to find the divine truth that lies deep inside of you?
